Welcome - Using Copyrighted Material |
|
DiscJuggler allows you to make legal copies of discs for your own use. This is allowed by the "fair use" clause of U.S. copyright law. You may NOT duplicate discs for other people to use, even if you don't sell those copies. You also may NOT duplicate other people's discs for your own use. If you take either of these actions, you will be violating federal copyright laws.
WARNING
It is illegal to duplicate copyrighted discs for any reason other than personal use, unless you happen to be the copyright owner. Padus products are not intended for this purpose, and we discourage any Padus customer from doing so. Padus takes no responsibility for any illegal use of DiscJuggler by our customers.
Reproduction or other use of copyrighted material, such as a CD or DVD, generally requires permission from the copyright owner. Failure to obtain permission from the owner of the copyright to reproduce or otherwise use copyrighted material can result in both civil and criminal liability.
If you are creating or duplicating discs for sale or commercial distribution, and you use material that has been created and/or copyrighted by someone else, make sure that you have the legal right to use and sell it! The owner of the copyright is usually listed on the disc itself, or on the packaging, following the word "Copyright" or "©" symbol and the date.
Consult an attorney familiar with copyright law for assistance in obtaining rights to copyrighted material for your own use. The information provided here is informational. Padus cannot provide legal advice, which must come from an attorney.
